Rose A. Walz, 81, of Belfast, formerly of Alpha, NJ, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 in New Eastwood Nursing Home.

Born September 22, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Louise Cestaro Hummer.

Rose worked in retail, retiring from Big Lots Department Store. She enjoyed being involved in her daughter's activities as they were growing up which included serving as a Girl Scout leader, and coaching in the Alpha softball league.

She is survived by her loving husband Charles; daughters, Sally Eckhardt and her companion Lawrence Phillips of Easton, and Melissa Hoadley and her husband Robert of Palmerton; grandsons, Cameron Joseph Eckhardt, Trevor C. Hoadley and his companion LeAnn Jones, Robert Hoadley, and Michael Hoadley; brother, Michael Hummer and wife Dawn of Walhalla, SC; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Rose was predeceased by her brother, John Hummer; and sister, Grace Kunsman.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 6-8 PM in the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Face masks and social distancing required at all times. Funeral services and burial will be private with the family.
