Ruth C. Granda, 96, of Upper Nazareth Township, formerly of Belfast, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. She was the wife of the late Raymond E. Granda who passed away March 21, 2002.

Born on February 19, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Clara Borger Gower.

Ruth was a graduate of Nazareth High School. After graduation, she worked at the Nazareth Waste Mill for several years. It was there she met her "future" sister-in-law, who introduced her to her "future" husband Ray, to whom she was married for 53 years. After their marriage, Ruth was a homemaker until much later in life when she worked at Tatamy Sportswear until her retirement. She enjoyed embroidery, reading, jigsaw puzzles and puzzle books.

Ruth was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Belfast where she taught Sunday school and played the piano. She was also a member of the WELCA and the ILGWU.

Ruth is survived by her only child, Lois Granda of Belfast. She was predeceased by siblings, Chester, Edgar, Mazie Serfass, Kenneth, Norman and Harvey.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 10-11 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere Street, Nazareth. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am in Belfast Union Cemetery, 471 Belfast Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ruth's name may be offered to the Grace Lutheran Church, 5907 Sullivan Trail, Nazareth, PA 18064.
