Ruth Ann Nelson was born on August 18th 1952 in East Stroudsburg, PA to the late Herman and Helen Nagel.  She was the loving wife of Timothy Nelson; together they shared 44 years of marriage. Ruth passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday, July 8th 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus.

She was a graduate of Nazareth Area High School, class of 1970. After high school Ruth worked as an assistant cashier at Nazareth National Bank. She left that position to take on co ownership of Herman's Service Center in Tatamy along with her late brother Charles "Charlie" JJ Nagel which was a family run business for 54 years.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was most proud of her two sons and never missed a single game through their high school and college football careers. She was an incredible Grammy who adored spending time with her grandchildren.

She was an amazing cook who loved trying new recipes, a champion organizer, and could get a stain out of anything. She enjoyed get-togethers and girls nights with her many friends and family. She loved playing cards and Hallmark Movies.

Along with her loving husband Tim, Ruth will be deeply missed by her sons, Todd T. Nelson and his wife Kelly, grandsons Jack and Elijah of Wind Gap. Her son Ryan A. Nelson, his wife Laurie, and granddaughter Mackenzie. Ruth was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her 3rd grandson who is due any day now.

Services will be held privately with the family.  Arrangements are under the care of Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ruth's name  be offered to the ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter 321 Norristown Road - Suite 260 - Ambler, PA 19002.
