Samuel David Kemmerer, a lifelong resident of Easton, PA, passed away peacefully at Frederick Living on January 5, 2025, at the age of 93. He was born in Allentown, PA, on December 10, 1931, to Allen and Minnie May Kemmerer, both of whom preceded him in death. Samuel is survived by his loving wife of over 71 years, Jane G. (Port) Kemmerer, whom he married on September 19, 1953.

Samuel was the proud father of three children: Brad A. Kemmerer and his wife Joyce, Janie E. Welty and her husband Jeff, and Jodie L. Shaner and her husband Drew. He was the adoring grandfather to five grandchildren: Paige, Samantha, Kate, Ben, and Hannah. Samuel also leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Will, Meredith, Ari, Carter, Ella, and Luke, who brought him much joy.

In addition to his immediate family, Samuel is survived by his siblings Esther Peters, Jeanette Mills, and Joel Kemmerer. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Evelyn Bartholomew, Robert Kemmerer, Ruth Markley, Helen Blosser, George Kemmerer, Rachel Huggins, and Charles Kemmerer.

A proud graduate of Easton High School (Class of 1950), Samuel began his career as an auto mechanic, a profession that sparked his lifelong love for working with cars. He later joined Bell Telephone, where he supervised vehicle and facility maintenance for many years before retiring.

Samuel's devotion to his faith was evident in his long service to Forks United Church of Christ in Stockertown, PA, where he helped look after the building and grounds for over 60 years. He was known for his willingness to help others in their time of need. Samuel's kindness extended beyond his church family, as he was loved by all who knew him for his friendly and easy-going nature.

In his free time, Samuel enjoyed camping, working on cars, and spending time with his family. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A viewing will be held at Forks United Church of Christ, 4500 Sullivan Trail, Stockertown, PA, on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM in the church.
