Obituary

Shirley M. Bennicoff, 89, of Upper Nazareth, passed away peacefully at her residence Wednesday, March 19, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Born September 14, 1935, in Nazareth, she was one of nine children of the late Stanley E. and Emma Mable (Yob) Siegfried. Shirley was the beloved wife of Theodore "Ted" Bennicoff Sr. with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.

Shirley was a graduate of Nazareth High School, class of 1953. She worked in the garment industry as a sewing machine operator before retiring. A lifelong resident of Nazareth, Shirley was a devout and active member of the Nazareth Moravian Church where she was a member of the Bright Star Circle and enjoyed helping in the church kitchen.

Shirley was a very kindhearted person who cherished her home and time spent with her family. Affectionally known to all as "Grammy Shirley" her memory will forever remain in everyone's heart.

In addition to her loving husband, Ted, she will be dearly missed by her four stepchildren, Rick Bennicoff and his companion, Sharon, Theodore Bennicoff, Jr. and his wife, Allison, Terry Bennicoff, and Melody Shiffert and her husband, Doug; six grandchildren, Eric Bennicoff and wife Daniela, Tad Bennicoff, Jamin Bennicoff, Chris Bennicoff, Jasmine Pooler and husband Adam, Coty Pensyl and wife Jessica; seven great-grandchildren, twins Ella and Serafina, Kaleb, Annie, Abbie and twins, Charlee and Bo; sisters, Elaine Siegfried, Catherine Silfies and Martha Haidle and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Ralph, Lester, Donald and Paul Siegfried and a niece, Lisa Haidle.

A funeral service, with Pastor Derek French presiding, will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in Nazareth Moravian Church, 4 South Main Street (PO Box 315), Nazareth, PA 18064. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing, Wednesday morning from10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Nazareth Moravian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shirley's name may be offered to the church.
