Shirley Ann Smith, 80, of Wind Gap, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 in her home. She was the wife of the late Gary L. Smith who died in 1988.
Born June 10, 1938 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Katie Shook Messinger. Shirley graduated from Bangor High School in 1957 and worked as a trimmer for various blouse mills. She was a member of Hope UCC in Wind Gap and UNITE. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping.
Shirley is survived by son, Brian and his wife Barbara; sister, Gloria Jackson; and grandchildren, Christy Keller-Rowe and LeeAnn Smith. She was predeceased by sisters, Mildred and Ellie.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 11:00 am in Plainfield Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West St., Wind Gap. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be offered to The Center for Animal Health and Welfare, 1165 Island Park Rd, Easton PA 18042, online at healthyanimalcenter.org.
