Obituary

Stanley V. Kline Sr., 86, of Forks Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's, Bethlehem.  He was the devoted husband of Lorna J. Walters Kline with whom he shared 60 years of marriage prior to her death on August 18, 2013.  Born November 17, 1931, in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Arlington and Alice Kostenbader Kline.

Stan was a proud veteran of the US Army having served honorably, during the Korean War, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart.  During his life, he worked for the former Dixie Cup Company, now American Can, for 41 years until retirement.  Known by "Pop" to his family, Stan was a very kind hearted person who enjoyed people and was special to those who knew him.  He was a humble, fun loving, "all around good guy."  In his spare time, he was an avid sports fan.  Besides following NASCAR, Stan enjoyed rooting for Penn State and Eagles football teams.  In past years, he also enjoyed taking hunting trips with his best friend, traveling to Canada to fish with his sons and always being available for a good game of Pinochle!  Over the years, he was a member of various fraternal organizations, most recently the American Legion BROWN & LYNCH POST 9.

He leaves behind 6 children; Stanley Jr., David and his wife Kimberly, Kathleen Kovacs and her husband Edward, Jack and his wife Barbara, Wayne and his wife Teresa and Neil and his wife Dawn; 9 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents and beloved wife Lorna, he was predeceased by 7 sisters, Minnie, Helen, Mildred, Marie, Doris, Dorothy and Evelyn; 1 brother, Paul.

Friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 5:30-7:30 pm, in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.  Services with Military Honors will begin at 7:30 in the funeral home.  Stanley will be laid to rest privately, at Easton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations in Stan's name to the American Legion BROWN & LYNCH POST 9, 2260 Corriere Rd., Easton, PA 18045.
