Obituary

Suzanne R. Frace Dotta, of Buck Hill Falls, passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side, Saturday, December 22, 2018 in St. Luke's Hospital Fountain Hill. She was the loving wife of Richard L. Dotta. Born July 31, 1952 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Francis O. and Betty V. Grube Frace.

Sue was raised in Riegelsville and graduated from Easton High School, class of 1970. Later she moved to Monroe County where she continued her interest in the history of Delaware Water Gap and the Pocono region. Her love of nature and wildlife flourished while living there. She enjoyed setting up feeders to watch the birds, taking hikes, kayaking and most recently watching the sunrise and sunset, from her home in Buck Hill Falls. Sue was known as a kind and loving woman who was very hard working and quite self-motivated. After high school she became a PA Licensed Realtor. She owned several older homes and enjoyed restoring them to their original beauty. She also owned and operated Pocono Used Furniture for many years before joining her husband Richard to work at the Dotta Auction Company in Nazareth. Her interest of local history, antiques and collectibles was evident through her extensive postcard collection of Northampton and Monroe counties.

Sue was also active in the Delaware Water Gap community where she previously volunteered with the Antoine Dutot Museum & Gallery and the COTA Jazz and Arts Festival.

Along with her husband Richard, Sue is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Micek and husband Patrick; her son, Derek Gould and companion Kimberly Christman; stepdaughters, Chelsea Dotta Krupa and husband Kyle, Morgan Dotta Zaharchuk and husband Theodore; two step grandchildren, Dmitri and Alina; sisters, Deborah Saunders and husband William, Sharon Bonser and husband George; nephew, Eric Saunders; nieces, Jessica Scott-Santo, Stephanie Saunders and Sydney Scott; and stepmother, Geraldine "Gerry" Frace, in addition to numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 9-11am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 11am in the funeral home.

Memorials in Sue's name may be offered to the American Cancer Society, https://donate3.cancer.org or Gift of Life Donor Program, https://www.donors1.org/get-involved/give-to-gift-of-life/ .
