Thomas A. Amy, 68, of Wind Gap, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 in St. Luke's Hospital Anderson Campus. He and his wife Louise Young Amy celebrated 47 years of marriage. Born January 23, 1950 in Easton, he was the son of the late Alfred E. and Pauline Snyder Amy.

Thomas was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School, class of 1967. He worked in various capacities at the Hercules Cement Co in Nazareth, retiring as an equipment operator in 2011.

He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moorestown, where he served on the board and was a very active member in the MMH group. He was also a member of the Cement, Lime and Gypsum Union, and the Teamsters Union #773. Music was a big part of his life. When he was young he was a member of the Wind Gap Drum and Bugle Corp, and played drums for the rock group Young Savages. Thomas continued his love of drumming with the group Vintage Rock Experience, which played local venues in the Slate Belt area. He loved the outdoors, which included bass fishing, camping and travelling with his family, but his greatest past time was attending sporting events of his grandchildren.

Along with his beloved wife Louise, Thomas is survived by one daughter, Karen Sutton and her husband John of Wind Gap; and one son, Gregory Amy and his wife Lisa of Nazareth; grandchildren, Jacob, Emily and Rachel Sutton, and Thomas, Morgan and Madison Amy. He was predeceased by one sister, Jeanette Amy.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West St.,Wind Gap. Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Brett Jenkins officiating. Thomas will be laid to rest in Wind Gap Cemetery.
