Obituary

Thomas Ellsworth Klock of Venice, Florida, passed away on December 9 th at 86 years of age, after a brief illness. Thomas was born in Easton Pennsylvania to the late Joseph Klock and Dorothy (Miller). He worked on his father's expansive farm (Klock Gardens) in the Lehigh Valley during his youth and went on to receive his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College. He had such a love of learning that he continued his studies and earned a Harvard University diploma later in his life. He worked at various roles in civil engineering, managing, and directing at several organizations in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, beginning his career at Tocks Island Regional Advisory Council (Executive Director, Stroudsburg PA), moving to Stone & Webster (Hydroelectric Manager, Boston MA), and retiring from the New England River Basin's Commission (NERBC Manager, Massachusetts' State office), where he was responsible for overseeing the safety of hydro-electric dams throughout the Commonwealth.

Tom and his late wife, Dolores (Parsons) Klock were married 57 years and she was the love of his life. They cherished dancing together (earning the top polka dancers in the East award), playing tennis, traveling in their RV around the country, and biking on many trails throughout North America. Tom also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, sailing, skating, skiing, tennis, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and photography.

Tom was the proud father of Andrew and his wife, Nancy, of Hingham MA, Todd and his wife, Angela, of New Lenox, IL and the late Julie Klock; He was a Grandfather to Kristin Koha and her husband David, Jessica West and her husband Nicholas, Matthew and Elizabeth Klock, as well as a Great Grandfather to Joshua, James, Harper, Cole, Kai, and Cali. Tom also leaves behind his sister, Jane Bond (Klock) of Katonah, New York.

Tom's wishes were for a small graveside service, which will be held on the grounds of Forks Church Cemetery, 1430 Church Lane in Easton on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11 AM, at the gazebo.
