Truman L. Flyte, 86, of Wind Gap, passed away on December 23, 2023 in Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. Born March 23, 1937 in Bushkill Township, he was a son of the late Raymond and Rosie (Seiers) Flyte.

He served with the US Air Force throughout the United States as well as Germany, France, Okinawa, Japan, Greece, Turkey and Vietnam. Truman retired from the USAF, with the grade of M/SGT, in 1974 after 20 years of service. Following his retirement from the service, he worked as a corrections officer at the Northampton County Prison in 1975 followed by employment at several Liquor Stores, including manager of the Wind Gap location.

He is survived by his son Ryan Flyte and wife Aggie of Jonesborough, TN; daughter Christy Flyte of Wind Gap and stepson Mark Davies; 5 grandchildren and his sister Gladys LaBar. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Donald, Lester, Ernest and Forrest; sisters Betty Nesfeder, Sonia Dotta, Mary Sortino and Dorothy Horon as well as his stepdaughter Michelle Davies.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, December 29 from 10-11 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 202 West St., Wind Gap where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Wind Gap Cemetery.
