Obituary

Velma M. "Pinky" Chuck, 94, of Tatamy, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015, at Gracedale Nursing Home under the care of Heartland Hospice. She was the wife of the late John Chuck who died in 1974. Born July 19, 1921, in Flicksville, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (Miller) Heckman. Earlier in life, Pinky worked for Magnetic Windings in Easton, and later for Country Miss from where she retired. For many years, she was a very active member of the Tatamy Fire Company Auxiliary, where she formerly served as Secretary and Treasurer. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling around the area and playing bingo. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Tatamy. Pinky will be greatly missed by her many friends and neighbors in and around the Tatamy area. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brother, Horace Heckman. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 7, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Herbert Dolich presiding. Burial will be in Flicksville Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pinky's memory may be offered to Hope Lutheran Church, 240 South 8th St, P O Box 237, Tatamy, PA 18085
