Obituary

Vincent J. Kratzer, 88, loving father, grandfather and brother, of Chestnut Hill Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2015 in the Pocono Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of the late Catherine Edelman Kratzer who passed away in 1993. Born on January 28, 1927 in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Clinton and Miriam (Siegfried) Kratzer. Vince honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After more than 20 years of service, he retired from the 2nd National Bank of Nazareth as a custodian. He enjoyed gardening and antiquing, and most of all spending time with his family. He was of the Lutheran faith and a life member of Tatamy Fire Company. Vince is survived by a son, Glenn Kratzer and his wife, Doreen, of Getzville, NY, and two daughters, Diana Holva of Bethlehem and Laura Segatti and her husband Christopher of Plainfield Twp. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Denise Millios, Andrew Holva, Damien Segatti, Ellen Segatti, Lisa Kratzer and Susan Kratzer; and two sisters, Phyllis Longenbach and her husband Harry, and Karen Reimer, both of Nazareth. In addition to his parents and wife, Catherine, he was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Kratzer and Dale Kratzer. Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 am on Friday, March 20, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 South Broad St, Nazareth, PA. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 am with the Rev. David B. Schaeffer presiding. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Hecktown. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere Street, Nazareth, PA.
