Viola M. Fraunfelter, 100 years old, of Washington Township, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at her residence. BORN: May 11, 1913, in Lower Mt. Bethel, she was a daughter of the late Aaron and Elsie Schug Kessler. She was the wife of Earl R. Fraunfelter who died in 1981. PERSONAL: Earlier in life, Viola worked at Taylor Wharton Co., assembling shells for WWII. Later she and her husband owned and operated Fraunfelter Strawberry Patch and she retired from the Blue Ridge Textile, in Bangor, where she was employed as an examiner for 28 years. In her pastime, Viola enjoyed decorating blown eggs. MEMBERSHIPS: She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Johnsonville and UNITE, the former ILGWU. SURVIVORS: Her loving family, daughter Betty DeVito and her husband Anthony of Mt. Bethel; five grandchildren, Debbie, Scott, Eric, Keith and Kyle; eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Charles, in 2005; sisters Florence Rothrock and Gladys Kessler, in infancy; brothers, Stanley and Melvin Kessler. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, PA 18064. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday evening, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday, from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forks Cemetery, Stockertown.
