Obituary

William Marakovitz Markovitz, 95, formerly of Palmer Township, passed away October 28, 2019 in Country Meadows. He was the loving husband of Minnie Kessler Markovitz; together they celebrated 69 years of marriage this past June.

Born March 20, 1924, he was a son of the late Rudolph and Agnes Marakovitz.

William grew up on the family farm in Pen Argyl until he served proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. William worked as a welder for Easton Car for over 30 years before retiring. He loved spending time with his family and always looked forward to visits from his grandchildren. His spare time was spent enjoying Polka music, gardening, reading, exercising, going to festivals, watching wrestling and Judge Judy on TV, as well as enjoying the simple pleasures of working outside.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth.

Along with his loving wife Minnie, William is survived by his only child, Cynthia Eichner and her husband Elwood R. (Bob); 2 grandsons, Adam Fenstermaker and his fiancee' Melissa Rogers, and Andrew Fenstermaker; and great granddaughter, Emma Sampson.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Sarah E. Sampson; and siblings, Rudolph, Stella, Alfred and Elsie.

A viewing will be held on Sunday November 3, 2019 from 4-6 pm in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St. Nazareth, with a prayer service beginning at 6 pm. Burial will be private with the family.
