William A. "Bill" Schultz Jr., 91, of Nazareth passed away on March 27, 2019 in Alexandria Manor. He was the loving husband of Velma M. Klump Schultz; together they celebrated 60 years of marriage before her passing on May 5, 2009.
Born October 15, 1927 in Hecktown, he was a son of the late William A. Sr. and Lillian Keck Schultz.
Bill was the owner of Schultz & Son Auto Repair in the west end of Nazareth from 1957 until he sold the business in 1993. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy while still in high school, and received his diploma when he returned home. He was a Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Tin Lizzies. He and his wife loved to travel and made many friends over the years while traveling. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Nazareth.
He was a lifelong supporter of Penn State football and had season tickets for many years. His favorite hobby was playing cards and he was always ready to play with anyone.
Bill is survived by a son, William B. and his wife Kathryn (Brodt) of Lower Nazareth; grandchildren, Bradly (Jennifer), Stephanie Donner (Jason), Melissa Miller (Timothy), Lori A. Stauffer, Christina Conover and Michelle Montgomery (Wilson); and great grandchildren, Amber, Kaitlin, Miranda, Christian, Riley, Mitchell and Hayden. His surviving sister is Hilda Bennick (Henry) of Bethlehem. He is also survived by a son-in-law, Ralph Popstein of South Carolina.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Popstein; a brother, Charles Schultz; and a sister who passed away at a young age.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 10-11 am in St. John's Lutheran Church, 200 South Broad St., Nazareth, with Masonic services at 10 am. Funeral services will follow at 11 am in the church with Reverend T. Daniel Clayborne presiding. Bill will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery, Allentown. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's name may be offered to the American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Place, Ste 170, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
